Indianapolis selects Kansas City based netEOP for new emergency management planning tool and software

Raytown, MO - infoZineRaytown, MO based netEOP, Inc. announced that their proprietary software, netPlanner, has been purchased by the Indianapolis Department of Emergency Management. Along with installations of the software planned for Cincinnati and the SOSINK (Southern Ohio, Southern Indiana, Northern Kentucky) Region of the Urban Area Security Initiative, netEOP and netPlanner are gaining widespread acceptance throughout the U.S. among emergency management departments and managers.

"We are delighted with the acceptance of netEOP and netPlanner throughout the emergency management and planning community," said Tanya Allen, President of netEOP. "Now, more than ever, state and local governments are eager to incorporate technology into their emergency planning and preparedness."

netEOP is a web-enabled application that stores emergency operations plans, combined with planning guidance that is compliant with federal, state and local standards. netPlanner, an all-hazards capability-based planning tool, allows multiple users to participate and engage in active collaboration during the planning process. Prior to the introduction of netEOP and netPlanner, emergency preparedness documentation and planning was limited by access and paper.

According to Randal Collins, Director of Operations for Indianapolis - Marion County Emergency Management, netPlanner will help emergency planners to better coordinate during the planning process and ensure everyone understands their emergency roles and responsibilities.

In 2006, over 100 local communities throughout Kansas were introduced to netEOP and were immediately able to access up-to-date emergency operations plans that were aligned with the National Response Framework (NRF) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

In October of 2007, the State of Louisiana Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) purchased netEOP, giving all Parishes access to the State Emergency Operations Plan online, as well as the ability to collaborate on their planning efforts.

netPlanner has also made its way onto college campuses, now used as part of the emergency planning courses at Arizona State University and under consideration for use in a number of other University programs.
